Memoirs of a Geisha
I decided to buy this novel because I wanted to see the movie, but I wanted to read the novel first as I had with the DaVinci Code. A teacher had also reccommended it to me so I decided to pick it up as a summer read.
It's a great novel....you can't put it down. I don't think I've ever been so avid to read about someone's life as I have with this novel. I learned a lot about the kind of life a geisha leads as well as the complicated outfits and thing they're adorned with. A very interesting read.

1 personnes sur 1 ont trouvé cet avis utile I've read the entire (6 volume) series, and I really enjoyed it. The whole series is a bunch of short stories about the darker side of teen lives. Drugs, rape, prostitution, bullying, harassment, suicide, etc. I enjoyed how these issues were adressed, as no other manga I've ever read had gone to these lengths. It was just very 'real' and although depressing at times, an overalls great series about teenage life.
