Qui sommes-nous ?

My vintage find story starts as an tagalong with my parents to auctions and sales. My mom, the consummate bargain hunter, said loudly “Oh this would be a great piece to hold your dolls.” I smiled from ear to ear with my freckles shining on my cheeks. She got a good deal, of course. My smile turned when I learned there were others plans for the vintage wooden medicine cabinet. My dad lovingly stripped and refinished it and it hung near our back door (above another find) for the rest of their lives. We all came accustomed to checking ourselves in the mirror before leaving for the day. 50+ years. My sister now owns the house and the cabinet. She has plans for painting it - my mission is to stop her!

Since then, I’ve had a love for the history of objects and took every chance possible to upcycle. Some were clearly fails and others are near and dear to me. My mantra is “I can’t keep everthing. Let’s keep the beautiful.” So I share with you finds from my parents and some of my own. Enjoy!
