Dave's recollections of growing up in So Cal bring back many memories of my days as a youngster in San Diego. Although about an hour from Disneyland, some of my favorite journeys up to Anahiem were to visit the "Happiest Place on Earth". Even simply driving through the area would find our young eyes gazing at the wonder of the Matterhorn as it beckoned all to come in! The United Methodist Church would throw a party every year at Disneyland and we would pilgrimage for a night of fun and frolicking (Dave, I do wonder if you knew the cast member who caught us annoying 10 year olds spitting off the Skyway! After his "chat" we definately behaved better!!!) which left us with memories that still warm our hearts today. Dave's behind the scenes tour gives all of us who simply passed through the park an insight to the inner workings of the magic. An easy and entertaining read, and if you are one who loves the magic of Disney, you will be touched by his recollections of the days of the "E" ticket!!; Everyone's life has a story-just some are more interesting then others, and this is one of them. For any have love for Walt Disney's original park will enjoy this Author's stories of life growing up near Disneyland and meeting the different stages of maturity with the Magic Kingdom as the backdrop. We get to live vicariously through him while reading about the free childhood many could only dream of, riding bikes with friends in a small Southern California town and being little scamps finding a clever way to sneak into the park. Later learning of a new excitement; Girls, and the fun of spending time in the park as a young date. Then getting older finding employment in the same park and making strong friendship bonds with fellow cast members, and using it as a means to meet more girls visiting from around the country, only too happy to be a gracious host of Disneyland. The years that follow include college, a successful local band, marrying the final love of his life, teaching, coaching tennis, and eventually as all things come to a full circle, enjoying reliving the magical park that Walt created through his own children.
