For gamers who crave customized weapons and high-speed action, the Borderlands gaming series introduces the "Borderlands Handsome Collection," which provides a number of exciting bonuses and features. This collection for the PS4 features two full games, "Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel" and "Borderlands 2." Gamers also get all of the DLCs released for both installments. The Borderlands games are action-packed, first-person shooters that offer a great deal of character customization. Like the first game, the second installment takes place on the planet of Pandora. The Pre-Sequel switches locations to the moon of Elpis. Both storylines mainly revolve around the character of Handsome Jack, the head of the Hyperion Corporation. The video games feature the same basic premise, with gamers playing as a vault hunter in search of treasure. The characters get caught up in a series of conflicts between the locals and the corporations seeking to control the planet. Fans love the franchise for having a well-established setting, an entertaining cast of characters, and a unique sense of humor.Gameplay in both installments is very similar. Players can select a character from different classes, with each one having different abilities. You can purchase or find a wide array of guns and carry up to four at once as the levels progress. Some weapons deal elemental damages like fire, shock, and corrosion. Picking up loot is a key aspect of the game. Defeated enemies will drop guns, shields, money, ammo, and grenade mods. Players can outfit their character to match their playing style. Weapons and gear can also be purchased from vending machines or found in crates and lockers. Characters level up as the game progresses, gaining stronger abilities and more powerful weapons. You can play solo or with up to three friends in split-screen mode. The Handsome Collection has been remastered for the PlayStation 4. If you played either of these games on the Playstation 3, you can transfer your character data over to the PS4. It's a great option for fans who have upgraded their console to the newer version. The collection also has downloadable content that expands the available playing options. Included are the missions "Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep," "Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage," and "The Holodome Onslaught." There are also several playable characters available that weren't included in the original releases. These include Krieg the Psycho and Lady Aurelia, the Baroness. Also included with this edition is the remote control Claptrap, which measures 10 inches tall. This tin can on wheels is known for his flamboyant behavior and close relationships with the in-game vault hunters. He can now travel alongside you in real time, moving at your whim with the help of a smartphone app that connects to these toys. Claptrap speaks up to a dozen recognizable phrases. In addition, the box includes accessories like a folder of lithographs depicting all twelve of the playable characters.
