  I purchased this shift lever for my 1983 Honda ATC 200E Big Red. Imagine my disappointment when the shifter would not clear the pull start recoil housing on the machine. I.e., when the shifter was installed on the output shaft, the shifter would hit or come in contact with the starter recoil housing. It wasn't even close to fitting or working. I spent about 1 hour bending and hammering the shifter on my vice so it would clear the recoil housing to make it work.

  You do not have a stock 1983 Honda ATC200E, We have sold hundreds of these over the past since these ATCs was new and installed in our service dept for close to 40 years. Before you entered into you great trails a tribulations trying to install you could have take the adult way and contacted us to see if there was an error, made but instead you took the childish way hiding behind feedback.
