  The pocket watch was delivered on time in beautiful original condition in original box…as new. The batteries (3) were dead, however, and when I replaced them, the musical tune, Hail to the Chief, did not work. So the seller did not test the watch prior to shipping. Luckily, I had an original same pocket watch and successfully replaced the broken musical circuit with the old watch circuit that worked fine.

  The listing stated the watch was purchased before 2008 and would likely need new batteries. With the item new in original box I would not test it before selling. I had sold 2 previously with no issues. Sorry you had a problem.
