  These balusters lack the internal structure of TimberTech balusters. That structure is designed to accept a screw at each end. The screws attach the baluster to the rails above and below the baluster. Instead, this package includes a drill bit that can be used to create a depression in the rails above and below the baluster to hold it in place. However, two depressions reduce the visible height of the baluster and make it shorter than the stated length.
