  It took me a while to fall in love with Purpleheart as a wood species for an acoustic guitar, I think primarily because most Purpleheart is very uniform, unfigured... kinda boring. To me, the figure makes all the difference. This set (actually, I got a couple of sister sets of this figure too), has a diagonal ropey wide curl that forms a chevron pattern on the guitar back. I'm thinking of using a Bloodwood or Padauk binding scheme with a white purfling line to complement the purple color. Aaron!

  Another beautiful Granadillo set! One of my favorite wood species. This set is a light golden color with darker wavy grain lines, and with a thin creamy white sapwood blaze at the join, flanked by a medium dark brown. I was lucky enough to get several sets of this Granadillo of Aaron's from the same billets, and it shows an irregular figure like little patches of beeswing, which will add movement to the already chatoyant surface sheen. Dried and cut perfectly, packed and shipped professionally.
