Shadow Company: Left for Dead combines action with strategy as you take control of an elite force of mercenaries in nine real-time missions throughout the world. The first requires you to save fellow mercenaries who were abandoned by the Granite Corporation after being ambushed during a mission in Angola. Now, financed by another shady corporation, you must finish the mission and get the handful of survivors out of the country, start rebuilding the unit, find out what happened and eventually take revenge on the traitors that abandoned your men.<br><br>Each mission is goal-oriented with objectives like infiltration, destruction of key buildings and assassination, to name a few. Four levels of difficulty are offered as well as single and multiplayer modes. You can hire a team of up to eight mercenaries per mission from a group of sixteen potential comrades, each with unique skills. Equipment includes health packs, wire cutters and ammo (either bought or found during missions) and skill points are earned depending on how well you use your team in the field.<br><br>Your potential arsenal includes handguns, submachine guns, assault weapons, sniper rifles, heavy weapons and grenades as well as protective clothing and other useful items. Vehicles, such as boats, tanks and snowmobiles, can be driven by one of your characters or the whole team. Shadow Company: Left for Dead, with real-time gameplay, features realistic physics (e.g., tank bullets drop to the round because of gravity), 3D terrain and animation, a tutorial and ambient sound effects.
