Synopsis
As a glassmaker and a magician-in-training, Opal Cowen understands trial by fire. Now it's time to test her mettle. Someone has sabotaged the Stormdancer clan's glass orbs, killing their most powerful magicians. The Stormdancers--particularly the mysterious and mercurial Kade--require Opal's unique talents to prevent it happening again. But when the mission goes awry, Opal must tap in to a new kind of magic as stunningly potent as it is frightening. And the further she delves into the intrigue behind the glass and magic, the more distorted things appear. With lives hanging in the balance--including her own--Opal must control powers she hadn't known she possessed...powers that might lead to disaster beyond anything she's ever known., Glassmaker Opal Cowen's magic is focused on the ability to create magical glassa talent that comes into play when someone sabotages the glass orbs used by the Stormdancers to ameliorate the force of debilitating storms. To find the cause of the tainted glass, Opal must unlock new magics and face dangers that threaten her power and her life. The author of the "Study" series (e.g., Poison Study) launches a new series set in the same world and featuring some of the same characters while also introducing a cast of fresh personalities. Snyder deftly weaves information about glassblowing into her tale of magic and murder. Copyright Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. The book was exactly as described and arrived quickly. The only problem is a recurring one with this seller and other similar sellers - the book is poorly packaged in a plastic envelope and gets heavily bumped in shipping. I would like to see the books wrapped before shipment, but I understand this can't be done for cost reason. Luckily it isn't an expensive book, and I will continue to purchase basic books from this seller. A+++++

Book arrived quickly and is pretty close to "Very Good" description. Value priced and I'm glad I made the purchase as this is an excellent read. However, the book was mailed loose inside an over-sized plastic bag without any protection. Wrapped in a bubble wrap jacket would be a big help. A book can take a beating in USPS transit without some buffer. I can't tell if the bumps and dings were original or occurred in transit. I'd prefer to pay for shipping than have it sent with no protection.
