I think that the stopper was not tightly wrapped and sealed and that the breakage occurred during transport. However despite this disappointment, I am still pleased with the product that I received and purchased another decanter with the same stopper which I received today and I swopped the stoppers. Also received the product late and think that the long transportation might have also been a problem.
