A UV filter not only offers protection but is capable of removing enough Ultra Violet light to reduce excessive blue and haze to clearly improve your images. A UV filter will filter out unwanted UV light and prevent a UV fogging/haze effect which can result in inaccurate color and lower the apparent sharpness.
