The CPU socket type is a socket 939. HyperTransport technology is a type of point-to-point link in the chip that increases communication speed between the processor's integrated circuits. The processor needs fewer buses in its architecture to transfer data between its components. The HyperTransport tech removes bottlenecks, reduces latency, and lets the processor access the RAM more efficiently.From a 90 nm process, the AMD Athlon 64 FX60 is a 233-million transistor microprocessor with a large 199 square-millimeter die. It delivers 64-bit computing on server, workstation, and mobile platforms alike, including desktops and laptops. A 64-bit computer easily handles large data sets and accesses massive amounts of memory that can be easily searched. This can be especially beneficial when you're running multiple programs at the same time. The 64-bit system is very responsive, and it lets you manipulate more audio and video content than ever before. It also supports an SSE3 instruction set.The AMD FX-60 dual-core CPU features an integrated memory controller. Data that goes to and from the computer's main memory is managed by a controller within the microprocessor itself instead of on a separate chip. With better memory management, the integrated memory controller will dramatically aid performance and reduce latency. You'll be able to run even the most demanding programs and software.
