The book didn't arrive, the seller responded straight away to my contacts in very pleasant tone and kept saying he would investigate, was chasing, etc but time kept passing and nothing happened. He didn't seem to have an appreciation that the delay would be important for me. Eventually got refund.

Seller suggested as the item was 100 years old that was to be expected and the posting was not late (took ages to come) and if I had a problem to return item. Fair enough - but no time and away on holiday. Had so many great eBay experiences so taking this on the chin. Been in museum sector for my career so understand old items/condition etc.
