Product Information
Real-life action and adventure can be found with Call of Duty: Roads to Victory for PlayStation Portable (PSP). This game was written by Eric D. Gingrich and designed by Chris Brockett. It was developed by Amaze Entertainment and published by Activision with a release date of March 2007. Call of Duty: Roads to Victory for PSP is one of many games from the award-winning Call of Duty video game franchise series, which are a military based first-person shooter genre of video games. Call of Duty: Roads to Victory for PSP can be played in both single-player and multiplayer modes and provides endless hours of real-life action. Call of Duty: Roads to Victory for PSP single-player mode is oriented as a campaign setting, like many war games, which revolves around a main story that contains a world in which a series of individual adventures take place. Within Call of Duty: Roads to Victory, there are three distinct campaigns throughout the game: American, Canadian, and British. There are a total of fourteen missions to complete the game, and the player acts as various different characters from the aforementioned campaign areas. The first missions of Call of Duty: Roads to Victory are within the American campaign and are based on three real-life operations that took place during World War II. The player begins by assuming the role of Private Derrick Warren from the 82nd Airborne division. This character is involved in an attack to recapture Altavilla from the Germans in Italy. Once this mission is complete, the player is sent to France to battle the Germans at Ste. Mere Eglise as Private Jonathan Shepherd. After an incident with a glider, the player is suddenly shifted to the view of Flight Officer Paul VanAtta from the Eighth Air Force, who is bombing Nijmegen while defending the B-24 Liberators from German fighters. The view then shifts to fellow American Sergeant Gerald Miller to continue the battle in Nijmegen, switching later to the view of Private Jason Wescott. The Canadian campaign in Call of Duty: Roads to Victory begins by assuming the role of Corporal Alan Bradshaw of the Calgary Highlanders as he fights in the Battle of Scheldt and Operation Infatuate. After this mission, the view is shifted to fellow Canadian Corporal Todd Gessinger of the North Shore regiment. Within this mission, the player is in Germany and protects their convoy against German attacks. Finally, gameplay in Call of Duty: Roads to Victory shifts to the British campaign which begins by playing as Corporal Michael Dabrowa of the 6th Airborne Division. In this mission the player must attack and claim Arnhem bridge, which in turn they end up having to defend from German attack. The last mission is played as Private Brian L. Preston as they invade Hamminkeln, Germany to claim victory over the Wehrmacht in WWII from the Axis Powers’ resistance. Call of Duty: Roads to Victory for PSP can be played in multiplayer mode with up to six individual players who connect wirelessly via ad hoc. This mode contains nine different maps to complete battles in. There are four distinct game types to play within the multiplayer setting: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and King of the Hill. Each type of gameplay has a specific objective and orientation in which players compete against each other individually or in teams. Call of Duty: Roads to Victory for PlayStation Portable (PSP) provides stunning real-life first-person shooter gameplay based on actual events that happened during WWII. It, like many of the other games within the franchise, has received high ratings among fans and critics alike.
